The ‘Lead and Feed’ fund

As listed at the homepage, NZ denominational youth reps and some national youth outreach organisation leaders have united in a vision. This fund is about encouraging INTENTIONALITY in every NZ city and town for the same.

What vision and destination?

That every youth in Aotearoa New Zealand has the opportunity to encounter the love, hope, and teachings of Jesus through a conversation with or invitation from a friend.

Would you be willing to unite where you live to help this happen there?

The Offer

This ‘Lead and Feed’ fund offers $8 per church youth leader (max 2 per youth group) for food provided at up to 2 inter-denominational youth leaders’ gathering annually in your city or town.

The intent: …is to catalyse gatherings hosted in homes or church lounges — and not therefore cafés where food is expensive, and leaders lack the privacy needed to share, envision, dream, pray and plan as they could.

The intent is your purchase something like bacon and eggs for a home-cooked breakfasts every quarter — or of fish and chips or $7 pizzas for a dinner.

This is about creating space within which you can connect and consider what you could achieve together that you could not achieve apart – namely, your mission across your entire city or town!

How to lead a youth leaders’ network

Understand the process

Stage 1: Coffee Unity – Get to know each other

Stage 2: Prayer Unity – Pray bigger

Stage 3: Functional Unity – Able to act together

Then establish your pattern

Consider gatherings at the start of every school term.

Your key question

What could we do together in service to the mission God gave us among the young people of our city/town that we could not do apart?

Three vital areas for application

  1. Equipping – Empowering Youth to Share Their Faith (Conversational skills).
  2. Schools – Where the Mission Starts (Help youth unite to pray to do something).
  3. Events – Momentum Builders (Give youth events they can invite their friends to).

application

By applying we trust you understand the purpose.

Accountability is equally simple: If you could confirm you have met as a courtesy that would be great — or we might email occasionally to check. However, with funds in your church account they are safe. ‘Fine print’ is below. We will keep this simple. Your leaders meeting with vision and purpose is the goal of the national leaders behind this.

The fine print

  • It’s for food in a home (bacon and eggs / fish and chips) — not expensive cafe coffee and food because this fund is about enabling a CONTEXT.
  • It can support up to 2 of your meetings per year at this starting stage — while funds last.
  • It is for inter-denominational youth leaders’ meetings — not denominational ones, and not for training events.
  • The purpose: To encourage a HABIT of youth leader unity in every city and town — meeting with vision and purpose.
  • If you apply for too much: We don’t mind if you hold it over for a future meeting.
  • If you don’t meet: Return the funds via the Shining Lights Trust. AllTogether.co.nz/donate

  • Accountability: A note to confirm you have have met would be a courtesy. We might occasionally check — but we want this simple. Above is the purpose.
  • Note: Those funding this hold full discretion over whether or not they approve an application.
